Bidding and Construction

Mackie Consultants, LLC has assisted many of our clientele, both public and private, with the bidding and construction management on all types of projects, including middle-to-high rise buildings.  This assistance has included the solicitation of bids on all facets of the construction project, their analysis in determining the lowest responsible bidder, and award of the subsequent contract.

Bidding and Construction

We can also provide valuable construction management services to keep the project on time and under budget.

These services can include:

  • Scheduling of all trades and contractors to meet the project timeline
  • Monitoring and tracking of all payment requests to ensure the project is in accordance with the approved budget
  • Construction observation to ensure that the project is completed according to the approved plans.
  • Completion of necessary bid forms, including EJCDC documentation
  • Analysis of bids received to verify proposal is in conformance to standard pricing and in compliance with contract documents
  • Review of shop drawings and submittals for compliance with contract documents
  • Scheduling of trades and contractors necessary to meet project timelines
  • Review of project schedule submitted by contractors for compliance with the contract
  • Complete resident engineering  or construction observation services as required by the Illinois Department of Transportation or other governing agencies
  • Provide scheduling and coordination assistance with the relocation of public utilities and facilities
  • Schedule, coordinate and attend construction meetings and progress meetings
  • Work with contractor and owner to determine the appropriate course of action to meet project deadlines or expedite construction as necessary
  • Arrange for any required material testing required under the contract with the outside consultants
  • Maintain files of correspondence, shop drawings or other submittals, meeting minutes, contract documents and all other documents issued during the course of the project
  • Completion of payment requisition forms and change orders, including review of applications for payment for compliance with established submittal procedures
  • Measure quantities required for payment
  • Conduct final inspection and submit to contractor the list of observed items requiring correction
  • Verify items noted on final inspection list have been completed in accordance with the contract documents
